Reels — features & options

Overview

Reels brings the TikTok / Instagram-Reels experience to your site: a full-height, vertical feed of short videos that snap into place as visitors scroll or swipe. The video currently in view autoplays (muted); scroll away and it pauses. Each reel carries an author, caption, call-to-action and action glyphs over the video.

Key features

  • Snap-scroll feed — native vertical scroll-snapping, one reel per screen.
  • Autoplay in view — an IntersectionObserver plays only the visible reel and pauses the rest (no library, battery-friendly). Muted autoplay with tap-to-unmute.
  • Overlay — author avatar + name, caption, CTA button and optional like/share glyphs.
  • Accessible — respects reduced-motion (shows a poster + play button instead of autoplaying).

Setting it up

  1. Add the Reels widget.
  2. Under Content → Reels, add a row per video: upload/link the video, set a poster, author, caption and CTA.
  3. Tune behaviour (start muted, show mute button, autoplay-on-view, loop each video).
  4. Style the feed height/frame, video scrim, author, caption, CTA and buttons on the Style tab.

Availability

Reels is a Pro widget. Enable or disable it under Tiger Elements → Widgets.
