Sell or assign courses to teams with Groups — seat-based access where a leader distributes a fixed number of seats to members, who are then enrolled in the group’s courses. Groups are ideal for companies buying training in bulk. This is a Pro feature.
Where: WP Admin → Tiger LMS → Groups.
How groups work
- A group has a Name, a Leader (a WordPress user), and a Seat limit (the number of members it can hold).
- The leader assigns seats to members; each seated member is enrolled in the group’s courses.
- Seat management enforces the limit — you can’t add more members than there are seats.
Creating a group
- Click New group and give it a Name.
- Choose a Leader from your site’s users.
- Set the Seat limit (default 10).
- Save.
Managing seats
Open a group and use Manage Seats to add or remove members up to the seat limit. Adding a member seats them and enrolls them in the group’s courses; removing a member frees their seat. The group leader can manage their own group’s seats without full admin access, which is what makes Groups a self-service option for a corporate buyer.
Groups vs. individual enrollment
Regular students enroll one course at a time (free, paid, or via membership). A group is the right tool when one buyer needs to cover several people at once — the seat count is the license they’ve purchased, and the leader parcels it out.
Troubleshooting
I can’t add another member.
The group is at its seat limit. Raise the limit by editing the group, or remove an existing member to free a seat.
A seated member can’t see the course.
Confirm the member is actually seated in the group and that the course is one of the group’s courses. Seating a member is what enrolls them — an unseated invitee has no access.
The Groups screen shows an upgrade prompt.
